Can I do post processing with Oceanvault – Recorder?

Not with Oceanvault – Recorder. It is only design to record video with enriched features like overlay etc.

That said, provided that you did not encode the overlay with the video, you can edit the data with MS Excel and record it with the player.

We will eventually launch “Oceanvault – Post processor” to facilitate this.

The idea behind the Oceanvault suite is to sell different stand alone softwares that customers can opt to avail if they want.

What is recording in “Native format”?

Recording in Native format specifies that the video stream must be saved as it comes out of the video device (no overlay, no compression).

Some cameras and capture card already do the compression so using this feature saves a lot of computer ressources as Oceanvault – Recorder will only record the video to file.

Does it support H.264 recording?

Yes but you need to install an H.264 encoder/compressor before you can access this feature.

You may use the free encoder from our download section:

This was done to keep the cost of the software down as the need for a professional encoder may vary from one user to the other.

How does the license work?

When you purchase the software, a download link will appear in your account page in the “Download” section.

Once you install the software, you will have 3 days to activate it.

The activation will be locked on your computer with a machine code.

The license only gives you the right to use Oceanvault – Recorder on one computer.

Does it support my IP camera?

Oceanvault – Recorder support cameras that stream in all major CODECs; MJPEG, H.264, etc.

The most common issue while trying to connect is to get the right IP address.

We support connection for our own cameras, if you want to connect to a different camera, you need to contact your vendor and ask for the IP settings.

Most cameras will have a format like: rtsp://user:password@IPAddress:port/Channel

EX: rtsp://admin:password@

It is impossible for Delta ROV to know what this connection address is therefore it is impossible to support.

Is the overlay added live, in post processing or only available with your Oceanvault – Player?

All of the above.

You may opt to encode the overlay directly if you are compressing on-the-fly.

You may opt for Oceanvault to record the overlay configuration and data for every video file. “Oceanvault – Player” will be looking for these files every time you open a video file.

The overlay and data files are compatible with MS Excel so you can edit these files in post processing to correct mistakes, average out values, even add more overlay info such as elevation.

“Oceanvault – Player” can record the video with overlay when you are happy with the data.
